Concrete protection with a track record behind it

October 7th 2026

Protecting subsea infrastructure is rarely about applying a standard solution. Offshore projects operate across very different seabed conditions, water depths, installation environments and asset configurations, which means the approach to protection and stabilisation needs to reflect the specific demands of each project.

“Experience makes a real difference in this part of the market. We’ve delivered concrete protection and stabilisation solutions across offshore energy projects for many years, with more than 100,000 stabilisation products now in service. That gives us a strong understanding of how these systems need to perform in different environments, from installation through to the full operating life of the asset.”

Lee Parnaby, Sales Director, Tekmar

Our concrete solutions portfolio includes concrete mattresses, GEO-MAT, Rock Bags, fabric formworks, grout bags and other engineered protection and stabilisation systems. These products are used across applications including cable and pipeline protection, stabilisation, freespan correction and the protection of other critical subsea infrastructure.

While the products themselves are important, the real value comes from understanding how they will interact with the asset and the surrounding environment. Seabed conditions, hydrodynamic forces, installation methodology, asset geometry and long-term operating requirements can all influence the most appropriate solution.

This is why our approach goes beyond product supply. Tekmar combines its concrete protection capability with engineering experience and practical knowledge built through the delivery of offshore projects around the world. That allows us to work with customers to identify suitable solutions, support project-specific requirements and help reduce risk through design, manufacture and delivery.

As offshore developments become larger and more complex, that experience becomes increasingly valuable. Customers need confidence that the protection systems they select are proven, practical to install and suited to the conditions they will face once deployed.

Our installed track record provides that confidence. More than 100,000 stabilisation products in service represents a substantial body of real-world experience across different project types, operating environments and customer requirements. That experience continues to influence how we develop our existing products and how we respond to new challenges across offshore wind, oil and gas and the wider offshore energy market.

Concrete protection is also an important part of Tekmar’s wider asset protection capability. Alongside our polymer solutions and engineering services, it enables us to support customers across a broader range of project requirements and provides greater flexibility in how we approach individual applications.

This breadth is particularly important as the offshore energy market continues to evolve. Projects are placing greater emphasis on technical performance, installation efficiency, long-term reliability and whole-life cost. Having access to proven products, engineering expertise and an established delivery track record allows Tekmar to support those requirements from a stronger position.

Our focus is therefore not simply on the number of products we have delivered, but on what that experience allows us to do next. By building on an established concrete protection capability and continuing to develop our products and engineering approach, we can support customers as project requirements become more demanding and as new opportunities emerge across our target markets.

With more than 100,000 stabilisation products already in service, Tekmar’s concrete protection track record provides a strong foundation for that next phase of growth.
